2 Year Update - After My Motorcycle Crash
Published October 19th, 2016 by Geoffrey Rose
If you haven’t yet, you should read my earlier post Living with a Traumatic Brain Injury before reading this one.
It has been a little over two years since my motorcycle crash and a bit over a year since the last update. I thought you might like to know how things are going.
The Last Year
There have been some ups and downs over the last year, but overall thing are going much better. My energy levels are more normal and I am way less fatigued at the end of the day. Also, my back hasn’t bothered me really at all for quite some time, which is great! I have also been able to consistenly work 40 hours week without many problems.
Frustration/Anger - I still struggle with…
This is what has been the hardest for me by far, especially considering I have always had slight anger issues, even before the crash. In the last year I have made great improvements in this. I still have a long ways to go, but I have learned to better deal with this as it comes up.
My memory has improved over the last year, but I still struggle with it. I hope it keeps getting better.
Some Final Thoughts
If you know me, you have probably heard me make a joke about my motorcycle crash and/or the brain injury. I find it a good way for me to deal with it, because there is nothing I can do about it, so there is no point in dwelling on it. Some people may not agree with me making jokes about it, but for me I find it best to keep it light. I feel it makes it easier to talk about. Just remember, even though that I may joke about it, it really does affect me and I deal with it every day.
